A bit about R Noone & Son

R. Noone & Son are greengrocers offering a fantastic range of fresh produce and dry store ingredients. We are based in Bredbury, in Stockport, Manchester. With clients all over the North West ranging from universities to restaurants we pride ourselves on being the very best at what we do; bringing you the very highest quality produce with faultless service, at the best possible value for money.

R. Noone and Son, affectionately known as 'Noones' began life in the late 1960's as a fruit and vegetable stall on Heywood Market owned by Rose Noone. Mike, Rosie's son, grew the business into a chain of bustling shops across the Manchester region until the late 90's when the arrival of the supermarkets changed the face of the British high street.

​Starting afresh as suppliers to the catering industry, Mike and Maggie Noone tended the business with love and hard work and slowly but surely cultivated a company which still manages to remain small enough to care, yet big enough to cope with varied and demanding projects.

Things have never been as exciting in the food industry; increasingly our customers are aware of exactly what they want, from a specific variety of locally grown produce to rare and elusive ingredients from the far flung corners of the globe and with our experienced buying team forging links across the UK and Europe we are able to meet demands and provide fantastic produce with total confidence.

Our Customers are our focus and drive us to maintain the highest of standards. We constantly review our procedures and have held the BRC accreditation for many years, allowing us to offer our clients security in the knowledge that our products and procedures are fully traceable. Visits to our premises can be arranged, giving our clients the chance to observe our operation during a working day.

Our Aim is to provide total customer satisfaction by providing the very best produce at the very best prices, maintaining an open and honest business and creating fantastic relationships with our clients.

Welcome to our latest sustainability report, highlighting our progress against our key sustainability goals and the new environmental and social initiative we’re pursuing. The report showcases our efforts and achievements in reaching our mission.

​Our key milestones through 2024/25include:​
✪ Invested in a Route Planning Support Manager role to focus on making efficiencies in our product delivery route and last-mile carbon footprint.
✪ Increased engagement score across Bidfresh employees following annual Your Voice survey to 83%
✪ Received a Bronze Medal from the EcoVadis sustainability assessment platform.
